The fragrance
What Creed Viking actually smells like
Viking is the most argued-about modern Creed. The opening is a blast of peppermint and pink pepper that some people find bracing and others find like walking into a dental office. Stay with it: after fifteen minutes the mint calms down and a rose-birch heart emerges that is genuinely handsome, and the vetiver-patchouli base gives it real staying power.
Performance is strong — eight hours plus, with sillage that announces itself in the first hour. It is a cold-weather fragrance and a confident one; it does not blend into a room.
Viking is precisely why the decant market exists. A great many people have bought a bottle on the strength of the Creed name and the first ten minutes, then found they could not live with the mint. Two millilitres answers that question for the price of a coffee.

Creed Viking FAQ
In the first ten to fifteen minutes, yes — it is the loudest thing in the fragrance and it is the reason Viking splits opinion. It settles into a rose and dry woods heart afterwards, which most detractors never get to because they judged it at the counter.
Viking Cologne is smoother, spicier and much less minty, and most people prefer it. Try a 2 ml of the original first so you understand what the Cologne is correcting.
It is the hardest Creed to recommend blind, which is an honest answer. Sample it before you spend bottle money — that is our advice on this one specifically.
