Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 Decant

Molecule 01 is a genuine curiosity: a fragrance consisting of exactly one aroma material, Iso E Super, and nothing else. On its own it smells soft, dry, velvety and faintly woody — a cedar-adjacent warmth with no top notes, no development and no structure. It is not so much a perfume as a skin amplifier.

The famous quirk is that a significant minority of people cannot smell it at all, and almost everyone stops smelling it on themselves within an hour while other people continue to notice it. It generates compliments out of proportion to how much you can perceive of it, which has made it a cult object for twenty years.

It is also the perfect argument for decants. There is no way to know whether you are one of the people who is anosmic to Iso E Super except by wearing it, and 2 ml costs almost nothing.
