The fragrance
What Tom Ford Noir Extreme actually smells like
Noir Extreme is the most consistently complimented fragrance we sell, and it is not a close race. Cardamom and saffron open it with a spicy warmth, then a kulfi accord — the Indian pistachio-cardamom ice cream — arrives and gives the heart a creamy, faintly nutty sweetness that is genuinely unusual. The amber-vanilla-sandalwood base is thick and comforting.
It lasts nine hours or more and projects confidently without being obnoxious. It is a cool-weather fragrance primarily, though it survives spring evenings. If someone wants a fragrance specifically for date nights, this is the first thing we suggest.
It also does not smell like the original Tom Ford Noir at all, despite the name, which is a common and expensive source of confusion at retail counters.

Tom Ford Noir Extreme FAQ
Only by name. The original Noir is a spicy woody amber; Noir Extreme is a creamy cardamom gourmand. They smell almost nothing alike, which surprises a lot of people at the counter.
The kulfi and vanilla accord sits in a range most people find instinctively appealing — warm, edible, slightly spicy — without being as aggressive as a straightforward gourmand. It gets noticed and it gets liked.
Autumn and winter, and cool spring evenings. In summer heat the creaminess turns heavy.
